Debt Purchasing

RMS purchases performing, semi-performing and non-performing debt from attorneys, doctors, banks, brokers, collection agencies, credit card issuers, resellers, and financial institutions. Types of debt include, but are not limited to, auto deficiencies, balance transfers, consumer loans, credit cards, government debtor obligations, mortgages, utilities, student loans and retail installment contracts. These debts may be at any stage of default, from newly defaulted through post-tertiary and beyond. We are willing to review all potential purchases, regardless of size, and we'll provide you with a highly competitive valuation of your portfolio. Our due diligence process is timely and efficient and, once we reach agreement, we fund and close the deal quickly. RMS operates with equity to purchase debt without the hindrance of financial obligations or the delays normally associated with board approvals.

Benefits of Selling

Selling your charged-off accounts can improve your bottom line with an infusion of cash from previously nonproductive accounts. The liquidation of distressed receivables can provide cash for reinvestment, strengthen your balance sheets, reduce operating costs and limit your liability. In some cases, selling bad debt also protects the creditor from arbitrary loan loss reserve requirements imposed by examiners or insurers. Selling your bad debt can allow you to dramatically reduce your staff, and can provide the ability to effectively manage a temporary inventory build up in times of increasing delinquencies, without increasing your collection staff.

Why Choose RMS

We have a track record of integrity. We understand that even after the sale, your company's reputation remains linked to the debt, and our commitment to customer service means that we will handle each debtor's account with courtesy and respect to ensure your continued credibility, while minimizing customer complaints. At RMS, we're not ruled by the need to achieve short-term results, and we realize that the best way to secure our reputation is by protecting yours.

Unlike a collection agency, we'll actually own your bad debt accounts, which means we handle all inquiries and complaints. And even though we become the creditor, you'll know we're handling accounts responsibly, because minimizing complaints is our highest priority. We have a dedicated team of professionals whose mission is to manage the post-sales process for items such as recalls, put-backs, disputes and document requests.

Our responsibility to our clients extends far beyond the debt sale closing. We are fully FDCPA and HIPAA compliant, and we take every precaution to ensure complete data security.

Contingency Collections

From past due business invoices to automobile deficiency balances and even medical and dental, no balance is too small or account too large for the professionals at RMS. We’ll develop a telephone and mail strategy to meet your objectives and exceed your expectations. Each collector has at their fingertips the tools and technology needed to deliver results. And if legal action is necessary, we have the experience to take judgment and turn that judgment into money.

We’ll provide monthly settlements by the 15th of each month, meaningful reporting, and status updates on demand. Does your current agency encourage you to check their performance? At RMS we welcome every chance to prove our value to you. We are FDCPA, GLB, and HIPAA compliant and our collectors are trained never to sacrifice your reputation with your customers in pursuit of a payment.

Skip Tracing

Statistics say that more than one third of delinquent debtors move annually. Is your current agency locating your skips, returning your skip files as uncollectible or, even worse, denyingyou the opportunity to place them with an agency that can produce results by allowing them to sit?  The recovery professionals at RMS know how to listen and to ask the questions that will locate your lost receivables. We subscribe to the premier skip tracing databases and each collector has the tools they need, where they need them - on their desktop. We know what it takes to turn your skips back into paying customers.

Servicing / Outsourcing

The recovery professionals at RMS can service all of your open accounts and outstanding receivables. We will handle the collections, payment processing, and send the reminder notices all at a savings to you over expanding your current staff. You will be free to grow your business, without pumping up your payroll.

Judgment Collections

In the hands of an experienced collector a judgment is a powerful tool. At RMS we understand that getting a judgment puts you at the starting line, not the end of the race. If payment options fail, we have the experience to leverage that judgment into money through garnishments or executions. All of our collection professionals are comfortable within the legal process and we have the attorney resources available to pursue legal action on new assignments or to collect on your previously obtained judgments.

Returned Checks

Returned checks are an expense. Not only is a NSF check a delay in your getting paid, but you may also have to pay costly fees at your bank. You will have to divert resources from core functions to collect the check. At RMS we believe you deserve to be paid as promised for your goods and services. No matter the size of the check, our collection professionals will make getting you paid a priority with immediate mail or telephone contact to the check writer. With RMS collecting, you can focus on what you do best, growing your business.

Bankruptcy

2005 was the biggest year ever for bankruptcy filings. The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 created new rights and responsibilities for all creditors. At RMS we have received comprehensive training on the new bankruptcy law from recognized experts and, should one of your debtors file, we’re prepared to do everything an agency can do to make sure you are protected. We’ll file the proofs of claim and monitor plan payments so that you do not have to. We know the new debtor and attorney requirements and can ensure compliance. We can even attend the meeting of creditors whenever and wherever we are needed.
